An Act of War (Yavin IV)

A large expanse region, the Outer Rim Territories are lawless, ruled by criminal organizations and/or the Hutts. Notable worlds include Arkanis, Mon Cala, Kessel, Ryloth, Eriadu, Sullust, Geonosis, Mustafar, Crait, Nal Hutta, Cantonica, Hoth, Lothal, Dagobah, Endor, Nar Shaddaa, Florrum, Yavin 4, Saleucami, Scarif, Felucia, Dathomir, and Tatooine. Beyond the Outer Rim is rather unknown, and probably for the best.

The wookie let out a groan as his hand outstretched attempting to grab for his lightsaber- his fingers flailing about on the cold stone floor as he failed to retrieve it. His vision began to grow dark as he gasped for air- his consciousness fading. He could feel a terrible darkness- one the Jedi had likely not felt for a millennia. It washed over him and pulled at every fiber of his being as rage bubbled up to the surface and the wookie could no longer keep his practiced cool.

You should not of come here, Jedi.

The wookie let out a blood curddlling yell, the translator failing to provide any galactic basic words or even an "aaahhh". Suddenly, something tugged at the wookie and he pulled back- though not with much force. Still, it was enough to pull him away from the entrance of the tunnel and back towards his apprentice. Growling still the wookie, dragging along the ground, was able to stand to his own feet.

He was angry. He turned to face the boy before him, his eyes glowing red with golden pupils. His hand reached out as his double-bladed lightsaber ignited and came swirling back to his paw, the Jedi turning as his gaze set upon his apprentice. He roared and lept forward, swinging at the apprentice in a modified Ataru stance.

The only thing was- the Wookie was not a user of Ataru? He was a master of Soresu...

As Colt's master descended further into the madness with his eyes flaring red with that of violence and pain as the flick of a double bladed blue lightsaber illuminating the dark halls of the temple, Colt flicked his own on as the blaze of lights clashed with Colt deflecting one side of his masters blade, and ducking underneath the other flurry as he brought his saber up attempting to slice his master's dual bladed saber in half. The stance was not one he had seen practiced before by Kitchit. It was not the traditional Soresu he had come to expect, something had changed in the wookie, and more importantly why had it tormented his master instead of Colt himself.

As Colt swung up attempting to slice his master's handle in half to disable the saber he quickly brought down the saber attempting to nick his master's arm before reaching out with the force grabbing the dust that lay on the ground pulling it upwards into his master's face to pacify the raging wookie. The child was out of his depth fighting a master even if it was in a style that was foreign to him, not only that, but he couldn't stand by idly or strike with the intent to kill. It wasn't the nature of the teachings Colt had spent months practicing and studying.

The large wookie's blade crashed with his apprentices as cackles of energy filled the cavernous space of the temple ruins. As the boy moved to attempt to slice the double-bladed saber in half the wookie's free hand jutted out throwing a force push to the boys gut, surely with enough force to knock him back and halt the boy's advance, changing the events of combat that were yet to unfold. The wookie instantly volted forward swinging his blade in a furry and yet suddenly for a moment he stopped, taking a step back as if once more in a haze, his left hand gripping the fur at the side of his head as he roared.

Kitchit was struggling. He knew he was being taken over by something... something so powerful even the seasoned Jedi Knight could not stop it... his force powers much too weak to handle whatever entity it was. He let out gargled screams as he once more advanced towards the apprentice, only for him to freeze again in turmoil as he moved closer to Colt, who was now closer to the exit of the forsaken temple. The wookies blade turned off and fell to the ground as his hands ripped at the fur on both sides of his head.

Whispers were running amuck and he could not stop them. Perhaps the reason why the perpetrators had left no evidence... was because there had never been one, but rather the scientists and outpost members themselves had been driven to the mad acts that led to the tragedy.

For Colt, the red light of the room in the tunnel would be growing dimmer from his... further vantage point, the wookie once more becoming enraged as he reached for his blade with the force.

As Colt slid across the floor as his lightsaber flicked off to prevent any harm to his tumble. With his plans foiled he watched as his master lunged forward twirling the blade but stopping just short giving Colt a chance to get to his feet as Kitchit stumbled in the temple. Colt stumbled backwards backing up towards the entrance of the temple. With his master's blade falling from his hands Colt flicked his saber back on force pushing a load of dust on the floor into his master's eyes. Now the opportunity was open to disorient the wookie, and throw him off balance with dust in the eyes.

With little to grab Colt's thoughts drifted to the Republic helmet that had lay await in the corner, by reaching out and grabbing it with the force he yanked back with all he could muster through the force attempting to slam the helmet in the back of his master's head to disorient and hopefully knock him out of this spell. "Master stop!"

The enraged wookie continued forward only for the dust to get into his eyes- stopping him yet again. Before the helmet could hit him however, something far strange to happen. From the tunnel deep within the temple as great wind came knocking both the wookie and the boy to their knees, and likely sending them tumbling like a weed backwards out of the entranced and down the steps of the abandoned temple. The red light seen previously grew weak- yet if the pair focused on it they would ascertain that the dimming of the red light was not the sign of it's growing absence, but the sign that it had been coming closer... the source of the light drowned out by the light around them from the outside, liberated of the darkness. No longer hidden it was clear the source of the light was a red light saber.

A figure dressed in black sprang to action, dashing forward with such speed towards Kitchit that by the time the mighty wookie had roared and raised his hand to pull his blade to it with the force, the wookies arm would be half way across the courtyard.

With unparalleled constitution within the order, the wookie didn't flinch as his remaining hand grasped onto what the other had started, the blade coming to it and turning on to block the next strike just short of his head, though wielding a duel bladed saber was quite difficult with only one arm.

The sith and the Jedi's blades collided once more as Kitchit roared to his Padawan. His translator was broken, but the intent was clear.

Go!

He wanted his padawan to flee. The master spun round to block another slash, but in his miscalculation one end of his light saber being completely cut clean off. In a way, it solved his issue of a stave-like weapon being unwieldy with one hand.

I'm sorry... he roared once more as republic soldiers encircled the group. The soldiers pointed their rifles to Kitchit and the mysterious figure, but were afraid to take any shots, the two dancing so precariously close in their sword fight. The master was deeply troubled. The sith switched from Ataru to Diem So, a strong overhead cleave misplaced at the wookie, who despite having only one arm, had a size and strength advantage. He parried, the pairs blades locked.

This Sith.. I, I should have sensed him and yet... it's like in my efforts too I opened all the doors to my mind and let him in.

The mysterious figure, by all accounts in Kitchits mind a sith, spat in his face. The wookie blinked his concentration completely shattered as the figure kicked him, the wookie stumbling backwards a step or two. However, the figure too had made a grave miscalculation.

"Fire!" the republic trooper shouted the moment the pair had become distance. A volley of blaster fire came at the sith. His blade swung in circles around his body as he began to deflect the blasts- two troops instantly falling prey to their own blaster bolts as the rest ducked for cover before continuing their volley.

Kitchit wiped his eyes with the back of his remaining hand as he caught his footing and lept back towards the troops.

As Colt's wookie master regained his composure, the madness releasing him there only lay await a more fearsome problem. The source of the red glow emanating from the hall had emerged with a different rage. A Sith lord, what seemed dormant for ages had finally surfaced once more. Within a flash the Sith lord had been upon the two dispatching the Wookie's arm in one swing, but his second assault being halted by Kitchit's quick thinking. It was clear this mission had been blown asunder, what seemed like a simple pirate raid, had turned into an emergence of a dead empire.

As the wookie's roar filled the area, Colt had fallen backwards watching the two fight before blinking and recollecting himself. As he ran back putting the Republic troops between himself and the Sith lord he watched as the two clashed blades, the tide ever seeming against Kitchit with not only his arm severed, but a part of his saber had been cut clean off. The Padawan had felt out of his depth, afraid, and worried what would happen if all of them were to fall at this moment. With the blaster fire pinging off the Sith's blade Colt ducked for cover as the Sith lord repelled the volley. As Colt ducked holding his head and saber he tried to keep out of it, his mind was racing too much to make any clear decision. The fear had paralyzed him, and having never been outside of a training situation he lacked the experience and patience to overcome and think clearly.

From his position in retreat, the Soresu master began to fling his blade methodically into a relentless defense. Every blast the sith knocked back at them, Kitchit in turn deflected it back again. With no options and overwhelmed the sith swung his blade one last time before leaping backward and up the temple, likely to retreat to a ship somewhere. Kitchit didn't have the power left in him to lay chase and waved the soldiers off.

"Let him go."

He knew Denso would never let him live that one down but there was no point in risking a fresh padawan and the soldiers here- he had to admit he wasn't in top shape and could not guarantee their safety especially when the sith had so easily influenced his mind. Holding the stump that was now his arm, he made way towards Colt.

"Warn the fleet a ship may leave soon- Colt, we must report back to the council immediately." he said. Except for the fact that his translator was broken so instead, everyone was just treated with roars and growls. Hopefully someone got wookie. With that the pair would be on a ship heading back to Coruscant.
